On the flanks of the Dart valley the upland fields drop down to the valley floor.
Ancient stone walls of granite divide the fields with the occasional tree, such as
this old oak, growing up beside the granite.
I have painted this oak almost as I would paint the granite - in tone and texture
they are so similar - reflecting the harsh environment.
In the distance can be seen Yar Tor.
